Mr. Sandler is known for recruiting and developing exceptional management teams and directing startup operations worldwide. Mr. Sandler built Global Telesystems over a six year period into a publicly traded company with a market capitalization exceeding $2 billion; raised and invested approximately $275 million in equity for 42 companies which provided a total return over 300% to investors.
Mr. Sandler founded and directed several private equity energy and telecommunications ventures focused on Green Energy: Geothermal, and Biomass. Mr. Sandler was interim Chairman of EnergyGrid Networks, Inc., a Smart Grid Utility Services Company and was a former Board Member of Power Grid Communications, Inc., an unregulated investment of First Energy Corporation.
Mr. Sandler was also Chairman of a Geothermal Energy Producer with acquired prospects to produce 2,500 Megawatts of Geothermal Power and his latest renewable energy effort was the development of a $320M waste to energy project in Guatemala partnered with Duke Energy Corp.
Morrie is a graduate of Cornell University where he was President of the Student Union and member of the Quill and Dagger Society; received an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago, and has been a speaker on entrepreneurism at a number of University of Chicago Seminars. He is an avid sailor. Born and raised in Chicago, he makes his home in New York City and Connecticut.
